The San Jose Punjabi Mela was founded in 2003 by local community activists, and is considered to be one of the fastest growing Festivals in the Bay Area. Last year, over 10,000 people attended the Punjabi (Indo-American) Festival in the San Jose Evergreen Foothills.

While the 500-plus year old Vaisakhi Mela (Festival), which originated in the Punjab region of India, is a popular world-wide event held in the month of April — an annual cultural, religious, and sports celebration — the “San Jose Punjabi Mela” is meant to recognize and showcase the diverse talents and resources of the Punjab region.

The San Jose Punjabi Mela Committee invites you to “a cultural event with social significance.”

The Mela is currently operated by the Indo-American Senior Center of San Jose, a non-profit charitable organization with Federal Tax ID #77-0513699.
