Bottomley Distributing Company commenced operation in September 1965 on No. 30th Street, San Jose. In 1975 the company moved from the orignal 10,000 sq ft warehouse to a 30,000 sq ft facility on Old Oakland Rd. In Febuary 1982, they moved to their present location, a modern 97,000 sq ft warehouse-office combination on Yosemite Drive in Milpitas.

he AARP®/Walgreens Wellness Tour launches in April 2009 and will deliver free health screenings and health education to communities across the country — with a special emphasis on diverse and underserved areas.

This new two-year joint national mobile tour features nine customized buses that will travel across 48 states, visiting more than 3,000 communities. One of the nine buses - called the AARP/Walgreens La Gira Del Buen Vecino -is solely dedicated to Puerto Rico.

Last year alone, the Wellness Tour provided more than one million free health screenings to over 180,000 customers. Over the next two years the Tour has a goal to deliver more than 2.5 million free health screenings - a value of over $60 million!

Available screenings are worth over $140* per person, and no appointment is necessary. Screenings include:

• Total Cholesterol Levels • Blood Pressure • Bone Density • Glucose Levels • Waist Circumference • Body Mass Index

The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour is arriving in cities nationwide as part of a 3,000-community, two-year national mobile health screening tour with a goal of providing more than $60 million worth of free health screenings. The tour aims to administer more than 2.5 million free screenings and is comprised of nine custom-equipped buses with dedicated staffs of Walgreens trained medical technicians. This is the fifth year Walgreens has committed to providing free health screenings through a traveling health screening campaign.

The free screenings—which include total cholesterol levels, blood pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference and body mass index—will help provide adults with a critical foundation for early disease detection and prevention.

They have agreed to come to the San Jose Punjabi Mela to offer their services.  Come and see what they have to offer!

Thank you for your last year’s generous donation to the San Jose Punjabi Mela-2008. Thanks to your generosity and support. We had over 10, 000 people, included elected officials from the City of San Jose, City of Sunnyvale. County of Santa Clara, and State of California, celebrating our diverse cultures.

Once again we have planned a wonderful and exciting event for our community, which will showcase our supporters like you. Once again, we would be honored if you would become one of our sponsors. Your donation in the amount of $3,500.00 will be greatly appreciated to this non-profit organization.

This year’s Mela is coming up, and we want you to join us in the festivities.  This year, it will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 9am to 6pm at the Evergreen Valley College in San Jose.

There will be lots of family activities, over 40 booths, food, entertainment and shopping.  Also, Local and International Celebrities will perform to entertain you and your family.

Soccer and Basketball competitions will also be held on the same day.

Walgreens has been generous enough to sponsor part of the event by offering a FREE Medical screening, which includes: Total Cholesterol Level Checks, Blood Pressure tests, Bone Density exam, Glucose level check and Body Mass Index readings.  Take advantage of this special offer for Mela guests.
